Biographical Narrative:
Dr.Zakris received her B.A. in Microbiology from Rutgers University in 1983. She received her M.D. from Duke University in 1987. She completed an internship in internal medicine in 1988 at San Rafaels Hospital in Connecticut and completed a residency in radiation therapy at Harvard University from 1988-1992. Dr. Zakris joined the Tulane faculty in 1997 and is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology. Dr. Zakris' research interests are AIDS-related malignancies, breast cancer, gynecological malignancies, lymphoma, total body irradiation, pediatric oncology, radiosurgery, brachytherapy and total skin electron beam.

Biographical Narrative:
Dr. Zhang graduated in 1992 from the Department of Biology, Nankai University, with a B.S. in molecular biology. Subsequently, he went to the Institute of Genetics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and completed two years of graduate study. In 1995, he was matriculated into the Ph.D. program in the Department of Experimental Pathology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. His dissertation project was on cloning and characterization of the human RAG-1 and RAG-2 gene promoters. After receiving his Ph.D. in 2000, Dr. Zhang started to work in the laboratory of Margot Ip, Ph.D., studying the mechanism of TNFalpha suppression of functional differentiation of mammary epithelial cells. In the fall of 1999, he enrolled in the master's program in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, State University of New York at Buffalo. He continued these studies during his postdoctoral training and graduated in 2001 with a M.S. in computer science. From 2001 - 2002, he worked at the Microarray and Genomics Core Facility at Roswell Park as a bioinformatics specialist. He joined the Department of Cancer Chemoprevention at Roswell Park in 2003 as a research scientist and was promoted to assistant professor there in 2005. He joined the faculty of Tulane University Health Sciences Center as an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in January 2008.
