The Tulane Cancer Center Comprehensive Clinic brings cancer prevention and cancer care together in an academic setting, with a multidisciplinary approach that coordinates the entire range of cancer care disciplines into one convenient location. Tulane Cancer Center physicians work together with the patient's community physicians to ensure that the patient's needs are met. The facility also serves as a regional referral center for a network of oncology programs serving the people of Louisiana, southern Mississippi, and southwest Alabama.

About the building and facilities
interior of Tulane Cancer Clinic buildingThe 25,000-square-foot Tulane Cancer Center Comprehensive Clinic is located at 150 So. Liberty St. (just off Canal St. in the Central Business District of New Orleans) on the ground floor of the newly constructed parking facility next door to the main building of Tulane University Hospital & Clinic. (See map.) Easy access to the main hospital building is provided for patients and families by an elevated bridge connecting the parking garage to the hospital.

The Tulane Cancer Center Comprehensive Clinic has been designed for ease of entry into the patient care system and for maximum efficiency while patients are being treated. Patient care is provided within a comforting environment that emphasizes patient dignity, personalized care, and promotes the psychological well-being of patients and their families.

The Tulane Cancer Center Comprehensive Clinic contains two linear accelerator vaults, ten exam rooms, an infusion suite, a minor procedure room, a laboratory, and an oncology pharmacy. The facility also houses medical records, a teleconferencing room, two additional conference rooms, the Friedler Cancer Counseling Center, the Tulane Office of Clinical Research, and Tulane's tumor registry program.

Each Tulane Cancer Center patient benefits from a multidisciplinary team that draws on the entire range of medical and support services. Experts in surgery, medicine, pediatrics, pathology, radiology, immunology, genetics, clinical psychology, nursing, and physical and occupational therapy are available for advice on treatment plans. The facility provides space for radiation oncology, an outpatient infusion center, outpatient bone marrow transplant, multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, and psychosocial support services.
