The prostate cancer program of the Tulane Cancer Center has several worthwhile programs planned to raise prostate cancer awareness throughout the community There are several other cancer-related events planned for September as well: October will be Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Light the Night Walk
New Orleans Lakefront, at the corner of Franklin and Lakeshore Drive
Light The Night, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide three-mile evening walk, celebrates and commemorates lives touched by cancer. Walkers carry illuminated balloons and raise funds to support the Society's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the lives of patients and their families. Nationwide, 220 Walk events are held by the Society's 60 chapters. Anyone can take part. Children, adults and seniors are all welcome. This is a three-mile walk with no fitness requirements.
