The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation Regents Distinguished Chair in Molecular Cancer Pharmacology

Tulane Cancer Center and the newly formed Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC) seek an outstanding cancer scientist for the Endowed Professorship Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation Regents Distinguished Chair in Molecular Cancer Pharmacology as Associate Director to identify and develop targets for new cancer therapies. Tulane University Health Sciences Center and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans have joined together to develop the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium with the goal of achieving NCI designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. Continuing funding from an increase in the state tax on cigarettes and significant financial commitment by both Universities provide generous resources to the successful candidate to recruit additional faculty in both basic and clinical sciences to establish a world-class program. Planning is underway for a new state-of-the-art cancer research building. The successful candidate will participate in the leadership of the developing cancer center. The Reynolds and Ryan Families Regents Chair in Translational Cancer Research

Tulane Cancer Center and the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC) seek an outstanding cancer scientist to become and Endowed Eminent Scholar, The Reynolds and Ryan Families Regents Chair in Translational Cancer Research. The eminent scholar holding this tenure track position will serve as the Program Leader of Tulane Cancer Center's Clinical Sciences Program working with our basic and clinical cancer research scientists to advance innovative molecular, cellular, and gene-based investigations to clinical trials and new treatments for cancer patients. Tulane University Health Sciences Center and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans have joined together to develop the LCRC, with the goal of achieving NCI designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. Continuing funding from a new state tax on cigarettes and significant financial commitment by both Tulane and LSU provide generous resources for the successful candidate to recruit additional faculty members in both basic and clinical sciences. The goal is to establish a world-class program translating basic discoveries to clinical care. Director of Stem Cell Transplantation and Developmental Therapeutics

The Sections of Medical and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology and the Tulane Cancer Center are seeking an outstanding Hematologist and/or Oncologist to fill a new faculty position at the Associate Professor level in the Department of Medicine or Pediatrics. We require a documented commitment to innovative translational clinical research focused on malignant and/or non-malignant hematopoietic diseases, leadership in developing innovative protocols and programs, and experience in stem cell transplantation. The principle responsibility will be the directorship of the institution-wide Stem Cell Transplantation and Molecular Therapeutics Program at Tulane University Hospital and Clinics and expansion of the program to encompass new molecular interventions for cancer treatment. The three primary teaching hospitals of Tulane University School of Medicine see more than 2000 new cancer patients each year. In addition to a fully equipped stem cell laboratory and transplant unit with seven laminar air flow rooms, there is an NIH-funded General Clinical Research Center shared with LSU School of Medicine. Tulane Cancer Center Comprehensive Clinics is a newly opened multidisciplinary ambulatory facility with an infusion center, minor OR suites, and a modern radiation oncology treatment facility. Modern renovated facilities meet the needs of pediatric patients. There is an Office of Clinical Research within the Tulane Cancer Center that supports accrual to more than 110 open clinical trials from our core hospitals and our Community Clinical Research Network. There are funded laboratory programs in molecular genetics, signal transduction, and environmental carcinogenesis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand and implement translational research in primates at the Tulane Primate Research Center as well as human patients. Clinical/Teaching Faculty in Hematology and Medical Oncology
Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine seeks additional faculty at the Assistant/Associate Professor level on the Clinical/Teaching Track to expand the program in Medical Oncology. The position requires a well-trained medical oncologist keenly desirous of a career in clinical research. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a clinical base for translational research and for clinical trials as part of a multidisciplinary team of clinical specialists and basic scientists. An excellent clinical research infrastructure and a collegial group will permit the new team member to "hit the ground running".
