About Our Program

The Tulane Stem Cell Transplant Program performs
adult autologous and allogeneic, related and unrelated
transplantation. The Program is a member of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), the Pediatric Oncology Group (POG),
the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), and
the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast & Bowel Project
(NSABP). Tulane’s Stem Cell Transplant Program has also been a National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) transplant, apheresis and collection center since 2001.

Tulane’s Stem Cell Transplant Program was started in January 1994. As of January 2008, we have performed 283 transplants, including 177 autologous and 106 allogeneic transplants.

Currently, Tulane performs transplantation for the following
neoplastic diseases:

-MDS
-autoimmune disease
-aplastic anemia
-acute myeloblastic and lymphoblastic leukemias
-chronic myelogenous leukemia
-chronic lymphocytic leukemia
-multiple myeloma
-non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
-Hodgkin's disease
-germ cell carcinoma
-Ewing's sarcoma
-Other non-malignant hematologic diseases
