Tulane University, with support from Debiopharm S.A., a Swiss drug development company, has established The Mauvernay Research Excellence Fund to foster the discovery of new therapeutic agents for cancer treatment. The Fund sponsors an annual award and educational seminar as a forum for the exchange of ideas and cutting-edge information on the latest research accomplishments at Tulane that may lead to targets for cancer drug discovery and/or candidates for therapeutic use.
The Third Annual Mauvernay Research Excellence Seminar and Award Presentation will be held in Room 111A (first-floor conference room) of the J. Bennett Johnston Building on November 4, 2005. In conjunction with this seminar, the US $5,000 Mauvernay Research Excellence Award and etched crystal tribute will be presented to a member of the Tulane faculty to recognize and honor outstanding and innovative research identifying targets for cancer drug discovery and/or candidates for therapeutic use.
