Urinary system from VS defect
Here is an atrial septal defect. This defect is less serous than the ventricular septal defect, and is caused by failure of the foramen ovale to permanently seal. A minor opening occurs in up to 25 percent of the general population. An atrial septal defect causes a left to right shunt after birth. With time, pulmonary vascular resistance is increased, resulting in pulmonary hypertension. This in turn can result in reversal the left to right shunt, causing congestive heart failure.
