chronic bronchitis
Here is one complication of chronic bronchitis. This is extreme
bronchiectasis in a lower lobe which has been surgically resected.
The bronchi and bronchioles are fibrotic, and they are dilated
right out to the pleura; little functioning parenchyma remains.
These are simply sacs of pus, and it is impossible to control the
infection in such cases.
