Occasionally, congenital hypoplasia of one kidney is found in an
asymptomatic patient, either during pyelography or at autopsy. Here
the right kidney (in the lower part of the picture) is represented by a small amount of pelvis and a
very small amount of renal parenchyma. The left kidney (top) is
hypertrophied.
