BRONCHOGENIC CARCINOMA, GROSS - There is a large whitish tan to grey tumor arising in the main bronchus at a point of bifurcation. The tumor exhibits focal areas in which the bronchial mucosa is thickened (probably representing carcinoma in situ). The tumor has pushing margins. These tumors usually arise in the hilus or near the hilus of the lung with rare ones arising in the periphery of the lung.
