HYALINE PLEURAL PLAQUES, GROSS - Dense areas of fibrosis-creating plaques usually on the anterior, and posterior-lateral areas of the parietal pleura and also on the domes of the diaphragm. Microscopically they are composed of dense collagenous tissue sometimes with calcifications, but do not contain asbestos bodies.
