Selective Block A -Medical Center of Louisiana (International Visitors) (MDOR OR CH)
Affords clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient settings. Students will
be assigned to either the Blue or Green team in this institution and will
work in the emergency room, surgery, and on the wards directly under the
supervision of one of the senior residents.
Quota: 4 students
Duration: one month minimum
Selective Block B - Tulane Medical Center (MDOR OR TMC)
Affords the Senior Selective students the opportunity to work with members of the
full-time faculty both in the ambulatory care facilities and in-patients at the
Tulane Medical Center. They will be assigned to specific fulltime faculty members
and a resident who will supervise their educational process.
Quota: 4 students
Duration: 1 month minimum
Location: Tulane Medical Center Hospital and Clinics, New Orleans
Selective Block C - Tulane's Hospital For Children (MDOR PED TMC)
This is a Pediatric Orthopaedics Selective. One student will be assigned to
Tulane's Hospital for Children under the supervision of Dr. James Bennett.
Each student will be assigned to a specific resident who will supervise his
educational process and guide his clinical experience.

Selective Block E - Tulane Medical School (MDOR RES TMS)
This clerkship affords the senior Selective students the opportunity to work with
members of the full time faculty on a clinical or basic science research project.
The facilities of the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory and staff are available to aid
the research experience.
Objectives: Afford the opportunity to participate in ongoing Orthopaedic research projects.
Outline: Individual or group project participation.

Faculty: Stephen D. Cook, Ph.D., Professor, Director of Orthopaedic Research, or any Orthopaedic faculty member.
Quota: 2 students
Time Offered: July - May (Blocks 01-10)
