Applied Surgical Pathology - Medical Center of Louisiana (MDPA SUR CH)
Experience in Pathology beyond that provided in the Sophomore year is valuable to
every physician regardless of the nature of his/ her eventual practice. This

basic nature of disease and to see Pathology practiced as a medical specialty.
The student is assigned a faculty preceptor and becomes, in effect, a junior member
of the staff, assisting in autopsies, observing and assisting in frozen sections and
surgical pathology diagnosis, interacting with clinicians in patient evaluation, and
attending all conferences. A certain amount of unscheduled time will be available
for pursuing topics in pathology of special individual interest.
Duration: 1 month
Quota: 1 student

autopsies exists. The student will have time to pursue topics in Pathology of
