General Objectives

Upon conclusion of this seminar, the student will be able to:

  1. Express understanding of the concepts of informed consent, advanced directives and DNR;

  2.  Express understanding of the legal principles behind informed consent, advanced directives and DNR; and

  3. Given a detailed true-life medical scenario, identify and discuss ethical and legal issues associated with informed consent and end-of-life decision making.
