Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Healthcare Seminar

General Objectives

  1. The student will learn about health problems specific to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons.
  2. The student will become familiar with methods for taking a complete sexual history.
  3. The student will demonstrate proficiency at performing a complete sexual history.
  4. Utilizing case studies, students will apply learned skills to take a sexual history and formulate a treatment plan for individualized patient scenarios .

Agenda
Total time of seminar = 180 minutes

  • Lecture = none
  • Reading assigned articles = 30 minutes
  • Working in pairs = 30 minutes
  • Working in small group = 40 minutes
  • Total group discussion = 40 minutes
  • Break = 10 minutes
