Biography
Dr. Lydia Bazzano is a native of New Orleans, and Assistant Professor of Epidemiology  at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine as well as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Tulane University School of Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the Tulane University’s Newcomb College where she studied Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. Dr. Bazzano matriculated to Tulane University Health Sciences Center where she received her Medical Doctorate. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston in 2005.

Dr. Bazzano is active clinically precepting residents at the Tulane University Community Health Center at Covenant House, established after Hurricane Katrina. She is also the advisor to medical students engaged in the dual MD/MPH program in the Department of Epidemiology. She is also active in teaching medicine to medical students and residents on the Tulane University Hospital Internal Medicine wards.

Clinical Interests
Her interests are in the areas of clinical epidemiology, diet and lifestyle predictors of cardiovascular risk and testing interventions to reduce cardiovascular risk in randomized controlled trials.
