Biography
Chayan Chakraborti received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and an Arts Bachelor degree in philosophy from Duke University. He received his medical doctorate from Tulane University School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. He continued on to the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he participated in a fellowship program in Medical Education. His current clinical duties are as attending hospitalist physician at Medical Center of Louisiana, New Orleans - University Hospital.
Dr. Chakraborti’s research and published manuscripts have involved teamwork training and quality improvement effectiveness in medical education. He has designed several curricula for students and house staff in these areas and continues to participate in medical education research involving standardized patients and high-fidelity simulations.  He continues to work regionally and nationally on efforts to improve patient safety and medical quality.

Clinical Interests
Dr. Chakraborti’s clinical interests are in the areas of clinical reasoning, appropriate antibiotic use, and treating ulcers of the lower extremities. He is active in teaching the medical students and house staff at MCLNO-University Hospital.
