Biography
Dr. Chukwunomnso Dennar earned a B.A degree in Chemistry from Williams College in 1996 and an M.D from Temple University School of Medicine in 2001. He subsequently completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2005. He is board-certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. Between 2005 and 2007, he served as part of the City of Philadelphia Health Department team of physicians who provide essential health care services for underserved communities in Philadelphia. In addition, he worked as a hospitalist at Abington Memorial Hospital and he was a staff physician at Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2007, he was nominated for a Philadelphia Community Physician Service Award.
In January of 2008, he joined the Tulane Medicine Faculty as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics. He is the medical director of the Tulane Medical Mobile Unit and an academic hospitalist with the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System here at New Orleans.
Clinical Interests
His clinical interests include the application of epidemiological principles to physician histories and physical examinations, bridging the gap between the potential benefits of medical treatment and the current realities of medical management particularly in underserved communities, and nutrition as it relates to brain health and hormonal aspects of weight management. He esteems both patient education and medical education and remains dedicated to developing relevant progressive methods to make them more efficient, enjoyable and successful. |
