Biography
Domnica Fotino, MD is an Instructor at Tulane University School of Medicine, working as a hospitalist at University Hospital.

She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA where she majored in Political Science, minored in Italian language and literature and obtained a concentration in music history.  She attended medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY.  She completed her residency in internal medicine at Tulane University Health Sciences Center.

She joined the faculty at Veterans Administration in 2004 where she worked as a hospitalist with Tulane residents and students.  She also worked in Urgent Care/Emergeny Department.  After hurricane Katrina she spent several months in Houston, TX and then in Baton Rouge working in a multi-specialty outpatient clinic. In January, 2007 she joined the faculty of the Tulane Department of Medicine filling the same hospitalist role at Universtiy Hospital as previously held at the VA.

In addition to her hospitalist duties, Dr. Fotino started her Masters in Public Health in the summer, 2007 with emphasis on epidemiology.  She also started research in nutritional epidemiology at the Tulane University School of Public Health.  Her interests consist of teaching, nutrition and international health.
