Biography
Dr. Joseph Huang is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine. He attended the University of Chicago where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biological Sciences in 1998. He then attended Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.  After obtaining his Medical Doctorate in 2004, he began his Internal Medicine residency at Tulane. Dr. Spruill completed his residency in June 2007 and served as chief resident in academic year 2007-2008.

He joined the faculty of the Department of Medicine in 2008. As an Assistant Professor in the Section of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Dr. Huang’s primary interest is in the realm of inpatient care. He is a hospitalist at Tulane Medical Center, and devotes a great deal of time to teaching both medical students and residents in the practical and theoretical aspects of clinical medicine.  He is also interested in working internationally and will work in Nicaragua through Atención Primaria en Salud Nicaragua in association with Doctors for Global Health.
