Biography
Dr. Kandavar, following his residency in internal medicine India, worked as a faculty in internal medicine at St. John’s Medical College & Hospital, Bangalore and Kasturba Medical College & Hospital, Manipal, India from 1994 to 1997. From 1998 to 2000 served as a consultant physician, ministry of Health, Govt. of St. Kitts and Nevis, West Indies.
After the completion of his residency and fellowship at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2006, Dr. Kandavar joined as a faculty Dept. of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine and was based at Huey P .Long hospital, Pineville, Louisiana. Since 2007, Dr. Kandavar has been practicing as a hospitalist at Tulane university medical center, New Orleans, serving mainly preoperative surgical patient clinic and in-patient medicine consult service.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Kandavar is interested in the practice and teaching of patient centric traditional bedside Internal Medicine, with a focus on art of history taking, physical examination, cost effective management and medical ethics, in the contemporary circumstances.
