Biography
Dr. Anjali Niyogi is an Assistant Professor of General Internal Medicine at the Tulane University School of Medicine and a Fellow in the Piper Fellowship in International Health and Medicine.
She was raised in India and Texas, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her MD and MPH from Tulane and remained at Tulane as a resident and Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Following residency, she received the Piper Fellowship in International Medicine and currently practices in New Orleans for half the year and in India for half the year.
In New Orleans, she practices adult outpatient medicine at the Tulane University Community Health Centers at Covenant House and New Orleans East, and inpatient medicine at the Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans. Additionally, she spends 4-6 months working in rural commnities in Northern India as an internist and pediatrician and conducting community-based research on malnutrition in children.
She is involved with education of medical students and residents at Tulane and of paramedical staff and community health workers in India.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Niyogi is interested in international general medicine, community-based health delivery, nutrition, and issues of healthcare access disparity.
