Biography
Eboni G Price, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine and a contributing faculty member of the Tulane Cancer Center. She is also the Medical Director for the Tulane Community Health Center at Covenant House.
Dr. Price received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame in 1995, Medical Degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1999 and Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2004. She also completed a 3-year fellowship in medical education and research at Johns Hopkins in 2005.
Dr. Price joined the Tulane faculty the Associate Program Director for Ambulatory Training in Internal Medicine (2005-2008). She helped restructure outpatient training in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and is the leader in making a paradigm shift from hospital-based to community-based training for the residency program.
Given her achievements as Medical Director for the Community Health Center, Dr. Price has received local and national recognition including the Power Generation 40 under 40 Gambit Weekly (2006) , Health Leader Magazine 20 People Who Make Healthcare Better (2007), New Orleans CityBusiness Healthcare Hero (2008), and the American Cancer Society Spirit Award (2008).
She is also a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Harold Amos Faculty Development Program Scholar (2008-2012) and is now developing her research program on minority health disparities, cancer prevention, cancer risk communication and shared decision making.
Research
Dr. Price’s research focuses on strategies to reduce cancer disparities among ethnic minorities and low literacy patients using effective provider-patient communication and cultural competence.
