Message From the Chairman
Welcome to the Department of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. As part of the Tulane University Health Sciences Center, the School of Medicine has a proud and distinguished history of providing care for the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region as well as diverse populations from around the world. As part of the Tulane Medical School, the Department of Medicine's mission is to advance knowledge in the field of medicine through innovative medical education, cutting edge health research, and quality clinical services.
As we enter a new academic year, I am extremely proud of the many Department and School of Medicine physicians and staff who performed heroically during and after the events of Hurricane Katrina by providing quality care and guidance to patients and others in the most extreme of conditions. It is this dedication to providing care to the community and people that is a hallmark of Tulane University School of Medicine. I look forward to this continued commitment by the faculty, staff and students in the Department and all the worthwhile contributions to the advancement of medicine.
