Tulane Medical School’s faculty in Obstetrics and Gynecology has been pioneers and leaders in Obstetrical and Gynecological education for over 100 years. Regarded as separate disciplines in the early 20th century, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane Medical School was consolidated in 1946 under newly appointed Chairman, Conrad G. Collins, M.D. For over a quarter of a century, Dr. Collins was responsible for shaping the Department’s educational mission and objectives in its early stages.

Our heritage is rich; tradition and honor run deep. We take great pride in the achievements of our predecessors who have attained renowned national and international acclaim as well as the promise of those who will follow.

As we embark on a new century, we have positioned ourselves to be on the cutting-edge of Obstetrical and Gynecological education and look to continue the growth and expansion of the specialty beyond the current set boundaries.
