Total Joint Replacement

The procedures performed at the Tulane Joint Replacement Program require expertise and specialized training. Each member of our surgical staff has received such training at the world's leading medical centers.
     
 

 

 

Raoul P. Rodriguez, MD

Ankle Replacement

Dr. Rodriguez is chief of foot and ankle surgery. He is one of a few surgeons in the region with training and experience in total ankle replacement. He also performs a full array of foot and ankle reconstructive procedures as well as having long term experience with hip and knee replacement.

Kathleen A. Robertson, MD

Elbow, Wrist, Thumb and Finger Joint Replacement

Dr. Robertson is a native New Orleanian, who completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Campbell Clinic, Memphis, TN. Her practice includes joint replacements of the finger joints, hand, elbow and wrist. She was trained by the developers of the latest implants for thumb joint reconstruction. She did further training in microsurgery and soft tissue transfers at Southern Illinois University.
     
   

 

J. Ollie Edmunds, MD

Elbow, Wrist, Thumb and Finger Joint Replacement

Dr. Edmunds is Professor Emeritus at Tulane University School of Medicine. A renowned expert in his field, Dr. Edmunds specializes in hand surgery. He completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C., followed by a fellowship in hand surgery at Duke. He is also the authority in the region on joint replacement in patients with hemophilia.
