The Central Institutional Review Board Initiative The Tulane University IRB has an authorization agreement with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) which allows for facilitated review of both Adult and Pediatric Cancer Trials. The primary function of the NCI CIRB is to perform initial and continuing review of the study. The primary function of the Tulane IRB is consideration of the local context and oversight of local performance. The Tulane University IRB decides on a study-by-study basis whether to accept the review of the CIRB or to conduct its own review of the study. Resources: Tulane-CIRB Facilitated Review Procedures
