How to submit a CIRB Protocol to the Tulane University IRB:

  1. Contact the IRB Director to request a user name and password for the CIRB website, www.ncicirb.org (First Time Only).
  2. Login to the Participant's Area of the CIRB website.
  3. Download the facilitated review packet for the protocol you would like to submit.
  4. Submit the CIRB submission sheet along with the facilitated review packet to the IRB office
  5. Submit the protocol by Monday at 5pm of the week preceding the anticipated review.*

* All CIRB-approved protocols will be reviewed by the IRB Chair and/or Director every Monday at 9am.


The Central Institutional Review Board Initiative 

The Tulane University IRB has an authorization agreement with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) which allows for facilitated review of both Adult and Pediatric Cancer Trials. The primary function of the NCI CIRB is to perform initial and continuing review of the study. The primary function of the Tulane IRB is consideration of the local context and oversight of local performance. The Tulane University IRB decides on a study-by-study basis whether to accept the review of the CIRB or to conduct its own review of the study.
