Manuel Lopez, M.D.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Lopez earned his medical degree at the Universidad Javeriana, Bogota, Colombia. He was the recipient of the John Simmon Guggenhein Memorial Foundation Fellowship and a Clinical and Research Fellowship at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Lopez has been on the faculty of Louisiana State University Medical Center and currently at Tulane Medical School. He is board certified in Allergy and Immunology and Laboratory Immunology. Dr. Lopez is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Chest Physicians, a member of the American Association of Immunologists, the International Association of Aerobiology, American Thoracic Society, as well as, other national and international associations.

Dr. Lopez has co-authored over 100 articles and abstracts appearing in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Journal of Immunology, International Archives of Allergy and Applied Immunology, Clinical and Experimental Allergy, Environmental Research, Human Immunology, Toxicology Industrial Health and others. He has been a reviewer for several medical journals and has been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and currently member of the editorial board of the Journal of Investigative Allergology and Clinical Immunology and the Annals of Allergy. Dr. Lopez has been a member of several NIH study sections and the Food and Drug Administration advisory committee on allergenic extracts. Throughout the years he has been involved in teaching, research and patient care. Dr. Lopez has a very active consultation practice in allergy, occupational hypersensitivity diseases and clinical immunology. His research has included, among others, the role of aeroallergens in allergic diseases, the effects of chemicals on the immune system, occcupational asthma, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, the effects of environmental tobacco smoke on asthmatics and the evaluation of drugs. Dr. Lopez has extensive experience in evaluating patients for latex hypersensitivity and has conducted research on latex allergy.

picture Mittie Kelleher Doyle, M.D.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Doyle received her bachelor's degree from Princeton University, and her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha societies, was the recipient of the American Cancer Society Prize (awarded to a graduating student for an outstanding thesis), the John F. Fulton Memorial Prize for Research in the History of Medicine and the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation (awarded to outstanding women medical students). Her internship and residency in Internal Medicine were done at the Massachusetts General Hospital, she then completed a Clinical Rhuematology Fellowship and a Research Fellowship in Rheumatology at Brigham and Women's in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Doyle has held teaching positions at Yale and Harvard Medical Schools, as well as, Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Doyle is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians.

Jane Maroney El-Dahr, M.D.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. El-Dahr earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and then her medical degree from Thomas-Jefferson University. She completed an internship in Pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital and then her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Virginia Health Science Center where she also completed a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology. Her current research interests include Asthma, as well as the treatment of Autism in children.

Dr. El-Dahr is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatric Rheumatology.

Laurianne G. Wild, M.D.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Wild received her bachelor of science degree Cum Laude with departmental honors in Biology at Tulane University's H.Sophie Newcomb Memorial College. She went on to earn her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine and then completed her internship, residency and a chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California Los Angeles County Medical Center. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society during her residency. Dr. Wild returned to Tulane for a Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology and subsequently joined the faculty as Assitant Professor of Medicine. She became the Director of Training for Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology and now holds the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. She received the C. Thorpe Ray Outstanding Faculty Teacher Award given by Tulane's Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Wild is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Ashtma and Immunology, the Louisiana Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, as well as the Association of Subspecialty Professors.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Davis earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi in Jackson. He completed his residency at Tulane University where he served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. Dr. Davis went on to do his fellowship in allergy and immunology at Tulane and pursued additional training in pulmonary medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Davis also holds Masters degrees in Business Administration and Medical Management from Tulane University. He has been on staff at Ochsner since January 2001 and practices at Ochsner's Metairie, Slidell and main campus locations.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Lehrer received his bachelor of science degree form Upsala College and a PhD at Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his post doctoral fellowship at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in the Department of Experimental Pathology. Dr. Lehrer received the Cum Laude Scholarship Research Award for Research on Shrimp Allergens from the National Fisheries Institute, the Certificate of Merit from the Institute of Food Technologists and the Divisional Lecturship on Seafood Allergy from the Institute of Food Technologists.

Dr. Lehrer is on the editorial board of the International Archives of Allergy and Immunology and has been a reviewer for the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, as well as Clinical Reviews in Allergy, Seafood Allergy. He is a member of over 25 Federal, National and International Committees including NIAID Food Allergy Study Group, International Union of Immunological Sciences Allergen Standardization Committee, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Adverse Reaction to Foods Committee and the Allergen Standardization Committee, FDA Allergenic Products Advisory Committee, the National Academy Scientific Standing Committee on Biotech, Food & Fiber Production and Environment. Dr. Lehrer lists over 400 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts (including 64 on seafood allergy) to his credit, and has given over 65 lectures worldwide.

picture Karen A. Sullivan, Ph.D.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Sullivan obtained her bachelor of science degree, Cum Laude, from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and then her Ph.D. in Microbiology (Immunology) at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Duke University. Dr. Sullivan's doctoral dissertation title was "An investigation into the in vitro reactivity, morphology, and antigenic characteristics of peritoneal exudate lymphoid cells from BALB/c mice immune to EL4 ascites leukemia." She did postdoctoral research with Dr. A. Sanerson, McIndoe Memorial Research Unit, Blond Laboratories, Sussex, England. Dr. Sullivan was a Fellow at the Cancer Research Institute and a Fellow in the Division of Laboratories and Research of the New York State Department of Health. Before her appointment to Tulane, Dr. Sullivan held positions at Cornell University's Graduate School of Medical Sciences - Sloan-Kettering Division, and the Department of Microbiology at West Virginia University Medical Center. Her research interests center on Lymphoid cell differentiation, Immunogenetics, Regulation of immune response, Cellular immunology and Transplantation immunology.

Dr. Sullivan's credentials include certification by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, as well as certification as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director by the American Board of Bioanalysis. She is a member of the American Association of Immunologists, the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, the New York Academy of Sciences, the South Eastern Organ Procurement Foundation, the United Network for Organ Sharing, the Clinical Immunology Society and the Americn Society of Transplantation.
