The Teaching Scholars Education Day is an annual
event promoting the scholarship of teaching, innovative education and
educational research of faculty, staff, residents, and students from
the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
The objectives for the Education Day are:
- To promote the scholarship of teaching at Tulane University Health Sciences Center.
- To provide faculty, fellows, residents, and students in the School of Medicine and
the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine with the opportunity to present new
and innovative work in health sciences education.
- To honor those faculty nominated for and selected as recipients of the Senior
Vice President's Teaching Scholars Award for 2008.
On April
11, 2008 the second annual
Health Sciences Society of
Teaching Scholars Education Day will recognize the innovative
education and educational research of faculty, staff, residents, and
students from the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health
and Tropical Medicine.
The deadline for the
Call for Submissions for oral presentations, posters and student
round table research discussions is
extended to
April 4, 2008.

Education Day will begin with a noon luncheon.
Following the luncheon, faculty, staff, residents, and
students will present their innovative education approaches and
projects (including creative uses of technology) as well as
educational research.
Three formats will be used: brief oral presentations, posters and
student round table research discussions.
The afternoon will conclude with a reception
and ceremony for the 2008 Senior Vice President’s Teaching Scholar
Awards.
All School of Medicine and School of Public
Health and Tropical Medicine faculty, staff, residents, and students
are encouraged to participate in our first Education Day by
presenting your work or learning about the work of others in the
Health Sciences community!
