The Health Sciences Teaching Scholars Education Day is an annual
event promoting the scholarship of teaching, innovative education and
educational research of faculty, staff, residents, and students from
the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
The objectives for the Education Day are:
- To promote the scholarship of teaching at Tulane University Health Sciences Center.
- To provide faculty, fellows, residents, and students in the School of Medicine and
the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine with the opportunity to present new
and innovative work in health sciences education.
- To honor those faculty nominated for and selected as recipients of the Senior
Vice President's Teaching Scholars Award for 2005.
The first Education Day, May 12, 2005, featured a keynote address by Malcolm Cox, MD,
Carl W. Walter Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Faculty,
staff, residents and students shared their innovative education approaches and
projects through oral and more than twenty poster presentations.
